An Original 1956 (from the first release of this movie in Austria) Vintage Austrian Film Program (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" [17 x 24 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Munchhausen (released in the U.S. as "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen"), the 1943 Josef von Baky German fantasy adventure comedy (based on the exaggerated fantasy stories by Rudolf Erich Raspe) starring Hans Albers (in the title role as Baron Munchhausen), Wilhelm Bendow, Brigitte Horney, Kathe Haack, Ilse Werner, and Eduard von Winterstein. Note that the screenplay on this movie was reportedly written by "Berthold Burger", but the movie actually carries no screenwriting credit at all! Why? Because the screenplay was actually written by Erich Kastner, whose books had been banned in Germany in 1933 (and all copies were burned). But when this movie was made, Joseph Goebbels assigned him to write the script for it, but only on the condition that he not reveal to anyone that he had done so. So there was not credit in the movie, and it was only on the actual script that Kastner used the alias "Berthold Burger"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this program was published by Das Programm von Heute, a different type of program that is far more rare than the regularly seen Austrian programs. Note that we have provided an image of all the pages of this 4-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and the interior two pages together). This way, you see the entire program, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Note that on January 6th of this year we auctioned a mostly single owner collection of 551 German and Austrian programs, that included many rare and wonderful titles, but now we have been consigned (from a new consignor) 128 German and Austrian programs which include some programs that are duplicates of ones we auctioned on January 6th, but which also includes a large number of programs which we have never auctioned before, including many rare and wonderful titles (especially super-rare pre-World War II titles from both countries, and some scarce titles from during World War II and from immediately after)!
