He would often appear briefly in his own movies as a gag. Some of his movies include: Rear Window (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), North By Northwest, Psycho (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Vertigo, Strangers on a Train, Notorious, Rebecca (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Shadow of a Doubt, The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, The Birds, Dial M for Murder, Lifeboat (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Spellbound, The Man Who Knew Too Much (he made this one TWICE!), The Trouble with Harry, and many, many more! He passed away in 1980 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this original vintage still was taken by Philippe Halsman in 1962 when Francois Truffaut interviewed Alfred Hitchcock for his book, "Hitchcock/Truffaut". It has a copyright stamp from Halsman on the back of the still. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: very good. There is a diagonal crease in the top left corner and a few faint creases and scuffs scattered in the still. It was displayed in a frame with a piece of clear tape on the back of each corner, and that has left a mark on the back of each corner, but it does not affect the front.
