Date Sold 7/14/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original 1961 Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12" x 16 1/4" [30 x 41 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Ein Toter Hing Im Netz (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise"), the 1960 Fritz Bottger German/Yugoslavian sexploitation movie ("Seven showgirls crashed on a diabolical island and fought passionately for the ultimate prize... A man!!!"; "A new experience in daring love and evil desires!!!"; "For mature adults!!!") starring Alexander D'Arcy (billed as "Alex D'Arcy"), Barbara Valentin (billed as "introducing Barbara Valentine"), Rainer Brandt, Harald Marsch, Elfie Wagner, and Dorothee Parker. Note that this was a low budget 1960 German/Yugoslavian sex movie about seven beautiful girls who crash land on a desert island with one man. I have not been able to find out the full story on this movie, but it seems that it was first released in the United States in 1962 as "It's Hot in Paradise", as it was originally filmed, and that in 1965, additional material was filmed that involved the man being bitten by a radioactive spider (shades of Spider-Man!), which turned him into a "half man/half spider", apparently with terrible special effects, and this massively re-edited version of the movie was titled "Horrors of Spider Island"! We are listing "It's Hot in Paradise" and "Horrors of Spider Island" as two separate titles, because of the three year gap between the two, and because one is massively re-edited from the other. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. There is a large red stamp in the center of the front cover, but the pressbook is otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
