He was originally a competitor in wushu, a variety of martial art styles, and won several gold medals in the Chinese championships from age 11 on. He then transitioned to martial arts films. Some of his movies include: Shaolin Temple, Romeo Must Die, and Kiss of the Dragon. He's also slated to be the Emperor in the upcoming live-action version of Disney's Mulan!
