An Original Vintage English Magazine (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/2" [22 x 29 cm]) (Learn More)

Picture Show ("The paper for people who go to the pictures"), an English movie entertainment magazine published from 1919 to the 1950s (maybe other years as well), featuring many photos and articles of popular films and movie stars! Note that the magazine was initially called "Picture Show", but at some point around 1940 it was changed to "Picture Show & Film Pictorial" and that at some later point in the 1950s, its name changed to "Picture Show and TV Mirror" (when it added coverage of TV shows). If anyone knows more about this magazine, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info: Note that this issue includes an 8-page supplement that is a guide to current movies (this magazine did this for a while around this time, and this supplement has a great image of Karloff as the Frankenstein monster on its cover, along with other images and info about this classic movie, which was also given the cover of the magazine itself, with Colin Clive on it, because he was being interviewed). Because the supplement was not bound in, it is often missing, but this example of the magazine DOES have the supplement!

Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided.

Condition: good. The magazine is lightly rippled throughout due to exposure to moisture, but the pages are not stuck together. There are smudges and stains around the edges of all the magazine pages, and there is rust where the staples once were, but the pages of the supplement have only slight discoloration at the staple area, and a lesser amount of staining around the edges (see our images).
