eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 7x0053 GORDON DOUGLAS signed 9x11 agreement '40 agreeing to become a writer for Hal Roach Studios! Date Sold 6/19/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Agreement (measures 8 1/2" x 11"; 27 pages) (Learn More) Gordon Douglas was a writer and director from the 1930s to the 1980s. Some of his movies include several from the later days of Hal Roach Studios for Laurel & Hardy (Zenobia and Saps at Sea). Others include: Walk a Crooked Mile, Them!, Robin and the 7 Hoods, and Lady in Cement. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 85. Important Added Info: Note that this agreement (which commits this writer to work for Hal Roach Studios for six months, and gives them the ability to keep renewing the contract at a higher salary every six months, but they can terminate him at any time after a six-month span, which was a pretty crappy deal, and standard for Hollywood at the time) has been personally autographed (signed) by Gordon Douglas! There are also the signatures of Hugh Huber and Mat D. O'Brien. Note that we have photographed the cover and the first page of the agreement, as well as the page with the signatures (we did not photograph the other pages, but you can see above how many pages there are in all). Our consignor is a longtime memorabilia dealer who has purchased autographs several times over the past 30 years, and he feels certain that this signature is authentic. Condition: very good to fine.
