Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 11" x 14" Stage Play Still (Learn More) Victor Moore was a stage and screen actor from the 1910s to the 1950s. He had a long and fascinating career! He was born in 1876, and in 1893, had his first stage role, and became a frequent actor in Broadway plays through 1915. That year, he was in Los Angeles on a trip and had an emergency appendectomy, and while recovering he decided to try movies! Moore appeared in several dozen shorts over the next three years, but in 1918, he returned to the stage. He came back to Hollywood after the coming of sound in 1930 (when there was much demand for stage actors in the new talkies), and he had a second notable career as a character actor over that decade, and he continued acting less frequently in the 1940s. He had two memorable roles in Marilyn Monroe movies: as the Justice of the Peace in "We're Not Married" in 1952, and as the plumber trying to help get Marilyn's foot unstuck from the bathtub in "The Seven Year Itch" in 1955 (when Moore was 78 years old!). He passed away in 1962 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this week on eBay eMoviePoster is selling a collection of 43 deluxe 11" x 14" stills that are NOT from movies, but rather are from stage plays of the late 1920s or early 1930s. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THESE BEFORE! While any movie theater might have received 11x14s for movies they were showing, these stage play 11x14s were probably just sent to some New York City media outlets, and were probably thrown away! So we would have to assume that these are extremely rare, and the fact that we have never had any of these before backs that up. Also note that in some case we know the actor or actress in the still but do not know the stage play the still is from, and that sometimes the still has a photographer name at the bottom of the still, but we are not familiar with these photographers. But all of these stills are printed on deluxe heavy stock (just like deluxe 11x14 movie stills). All of these 43 stage play 11x14s are guaranteed to be original, and many have notations on the back as well as stamps showing where the still came from. NOTE: Because we are selling more than one 11x14 of Victor Moore this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate between the sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, etc. Be sure to see the other Victor Moore still we have available on eBay this week. Condition: good. There is paper loss in three corners. There is staining in the top right corner. There are minor creases throughout the still, but they are truly only noticeable when the still is turned to the light.. The stars name is written on the back of the still in pencil.
