Or a woman's arms!"; "Dynamite... In a dinner jacket!"; "Thrill to fiction's most elegant gentleman yegg!"; "Based upon a work by Louis Joseph Vance") starring Warren William (in the title role as The Lone Wolf), Joan Perry, Eric Blore, Alan Baxter, Montagu Love, Astrid Allwyn, and Robert Wilcox. Note that The Lone Wolf was a character in a series of eight novels that author Louis Joseph Vance wrote starting in 1914, and the first movie starring the character was in 1917, with Bert Lytell in the lead role. There were three movies after that with three different actors in the lead role. Then Lytell returned to the character, and there were many movies in a short period, and then Lytell starred in some sound movies as the character. In the 1940s, Warren William starred in a series of Lone Wolf movies, and then the character was played by Gerald Mohr. There were a few single entries mixed in where other actors played the lead role. In all, there were 24 Lone Wolf movies! The character was a master thief turned detective, and there were several other characters who were very similar, but few had the enduring popularity of The Lone Wolf!
