An Original Vintage Linenbacked French Large Advertising Poster (31x47; measures 37 1/2" x 53" [95 x 135 cm]) (Learn More) Fetes Des Loges, the circa 1922 French advertisement for lodging, food and entertainment to be found in the Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Lay. Note that a perpetual calendar shows that the days on the bottom of the poster correspond to either 1922 or 1933, and based on the poster, we think 1922 is more likely. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: A. Brefort Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines and many scuffs scattered throughout. There were creases, tears, and some tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a thin linen with no restoration and it either was not well backed or was roughly handled afterward, because there are now creases scattered around the edges of the poster (both in the linen and the poster). One could display this poster as it is, but it has many noticeable imperfections. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly re-restored! Learn More about condition grades
