Wake up Mr. & Mrs. America"; "Easy money - but a victim of shame for life"; "Once innocent - now I have to pay for my shame on 'Skid Row'"; "I had to beg steal and worse to live"; "Adults only"). Note that this movie has been confused with the 1956 Canadian documentary movie of the same name (including by us!), but we don't believe the two movies are connected. Also note that there is a strong possibility that this 1950 movie was not first made in 1950, but that it might be a re-titling, and perhaps re-editing, of almost any of the 1930s and 1940s sexploitation/crime movies (one strong possibility is the 1943 crime movie "Confessions of a Vice Baron", because the IMDb says it was re-released under the title of "Skid Row")! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that there is a strong possibility that this poster is not from the 1956 movie described above. We have entered it as that movie, because that one actually IS called "Skid Row". Certainly, this is a title that could have been used for almost any of the 1930s to 1950s sexploitation/crime movies (one strong possibility is the 1943 crime movie "Confessions of a Vice Baron")! If anyone knows more about this poster or what movie it is from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/2" x 40 3/4" [72 x 104 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some darkening on parts of some foldlines, and on the extreme outer edges of parts of the borders. There was some small paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting. Also, it appears that the poster was removed from the linenbacker's stretcher too early, because it is slightly rippled around the edges, but this is more "felt" than seen.
