An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Michael O'Halloran, the 1923 James Leo Meehan silent family relationship melodrama (based on the novel by Gene Stratton-Porter; about two interrelated stories; one is about an orphan teenager who takes in an orphan crippled girl, and they end up with a woman who is on the verge of losing her husband and children due to her wild ways, and they are able to help each other) starring Irene Rich, Virginia True Boardman (in the title role as Michael O'Halloran), Ethel Irving, Charles Clary, and Claire McDowell. Note that all online sources say that Virginia True Boardman played the title role of Michael O'Halloran, but this makes no sense at all, because she was an actress in her mid-30s, and Michael O'Halloran is a teenage boy (he was played by Scotty Beckett in the 1948 version and by Jackie Moran in the 1937 version). I guess it is possible that a mid-30s woman could play a teenage boy! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
