Edward Sutherland romantic working-girl-looking-for-wealthy-husband family relationship sisters comedy ("100 per cent all-talking"; about two sisters who work in a department store, and who both go after the same wealthy young man, but the "bad" sister, played by Jean Arthur, uses deceit to win the fellow, but ultimately, the "good" sister wins him back!) starring Clara Bow, James Hall, Edna May Oliver, Jean Arthur, Hyman Meyer, Eddie Dunn, Charles Sellon, and Jean Harlow (in an uncredited role as a salesgirl!). Note that this movie was a re-make of the 1926 "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em", which starred Evelyn Brent and Louise Brooks as the sisters, and both movies were adapted from a stage play by George Abbott. This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges, and some scattered in the image, with some smudges and stains scattered throughout. There was paper loss in the bottom right corner that affected the Paramount logo, and paper loss in the bottom left corner that affected the solid black area. Overall, the window card was in fair to good condition prior to paperbacking. A talented restorer did a nice job with the window card, especially considering its defects, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
