An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Mexican Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) Cuando Habla el Corazon (literally translates to "When the Heart Speaks" and also released in the U.S. as "El Norteno"), the 1943 Juan Jose Segura musical romantic melodrama (about two friends who fight because one insulted the sister of the other) starring Pedro Infante, Maria Luisa Zea, Victor Manuel Mendoza, Narciso Busquets, Jose Eduardo Perez, Susana Cora, and Arturo Soto Rangel. Note that it is difficult to know exactly what occurred with this movie, but it was released in Mexico as "Cuando Habla el Corazon" and in the U.S. as "El Norteno", and those two releases might have occurred at the same time, or they could have occurred separately, and we don't know which one predated the other. We have seen this with some other Mexican movies. The only poster we have auctioned for this movie is from the U.S. release, and it is under the "El Norteno" title, and it has information for the U.S. distributor, "Azteca Films" printed in the lower left. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Mexican poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie (and it is the poster referred to in our description above)! Not only that, but we have never auctioned ANY movie paper from this movie (under either its Mexican or U.S. title)! Note that this linenbacked Mexican poster (and 110 others, which we are auctioning in 111 separate auctions) comes from a remarkable collection of Mexican posters which was assembled over many decades! We first auctioned ones from this collection in August and December of 2023, and those included many great rarities, and they sold for as much as $2,505, but there were also a number of great bargains that sold for well under the cost of linenbacking alone! NOW, we are auctioning an additional 111 posters from this amazing collection, which again includes many great rarities, including 9 Mexican posters with art by Ernesto Garcia Cabral, and 43 of the 111 are ones we either have NEVER auctioned before, or only auctioned once before! There will again be the chance for great buys in these honest no reserve auctions, and many of these posters may not be offered again for many years, if ever! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some extra folds and some scuffing scattered throughout the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
