An Original Vintage Japanese Magazine (measures 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" [21 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) Town Mook: An Invitation to the Fantasia of Space SF Films, the 1978 Japanese magazine published right after Star Wars came out, and giving an overview of great "space science fiction" over all the years up to and including Star Wars! The 132 page magazine has lots of great images and info from many classic movies, including a double-sided bound in poster showing images from 2001: A Space Odyssey and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. But the highlight of the magazine is the bound in poster that has a great image from Star Wars (with Noriyoshi Ohrai art) on one side, and a great image of the moon bus from 2001: A Space Odyssey on the other side! We have previously auctioned several examples of the poster that were removed from the magazine, but this auction is for a complete example of the magazine itself, where the poster has not been removed! Since it seems that most people DID remove the poster from the magazine, it is very difficult to locate the magazine with the poster intact! Important Added Info: As noted above, this is the complete magazine that contains this very desirable double-sided poster (with Star Wars on one side and 2001 on the other, and there is a second inserted poster, which has 2001 on both sides). When removed from the magazine, the Star Wars poster usually auctions for between $500 and $1,000, but the winner of this auction gets the entire magazine, including the Star Wars poster. Note: We have 14 images of the magazines in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 14 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 4. Condition: very good.
