Half-Life: Alyx is a 2020 virtual reality (VR) science fiction (sci-fi) first-person shooter developed and published by Valve Corporation. The story serves as a prequel to Half-Life 2, and the players control Alyx Vance on a mission to seize a superweapon belonging to the alien Combine. The game received acclaim for its graphics, voice acting, narrative, and atmosphere, and has been cited as VR's first necessary "killer app". It was nominated for numerous awards and won "Best VR/AR" at the 2020 Game Awards.
