Date Sold 6/30/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 28" x 40" [71 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Someone Talked!, the 1942 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster discouraging careless talk, and featuring iconic Frederick "Fritz" Siebel art of a drowning solder pointing his finger. This poster might seem "heavy handed" to today's world, but America during World War II was very conscious of not accidentally giving information to the enemy. Artist: Frederick "Fritz" Siebel Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of around 100 guaranteed authentic mostly war posters (around 75 war posters, plus 25 others, including political ones) mostly dating from before 1900 through 1945, with 15 from after that date! These were originally acquired by an archive decades ago, and they have been in storage ever since, until they were recently consigned to us. Many of these are the sorts of posters that you can find reproductions of on the Internet, but finding guaranteed originals like these is incredibly difficult (years can go by before these are offered for sale or at auction). This is a very rare opportunity to purchase any of these more than 100 posters! Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. The poster has creases scattered along parts of the folds (caused when it was machine folded). Otherwise, the poster is in fantastic condition, especially considering its age!
