La Ciociara (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "Two Women"), the classic 1960 Vittorio De Sica French/Italian World War II (WWII) women-survivors-of-war-atrocities melodrama ("Suddenly... Love becomes lust... Innocence becomes shame... As two women are trapped by violent passion and unforgettable terror!"; "Shockingly... The screen tells the shame of women ravaged by war!!!"; based on the novel by Alberto Moravia) starring Sophia Loren (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "Winner best actress award Cannes Film Festival 1961 for her performance in 'Two Women'"), Jean-Paul Belmondo, Raf Vallone, Eleanora Brown, and Carlo Ninchi

Important Added Info: Note that this movie opened in Italy in December 1960, and was a major success. It opened at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1961, and also played in the U.S. starting soon after in 1961. The distribution of this U.S. showing was handled by Embassy Pictures, who created a 2-color lobby cards, which referenced the Cannes Film Festival. It seems likely that this Embassy release was subtitled and that it only contained 93 minutes of the original 100-minute film. In 1962, MGM gave the movie a major release, and it is likely that this version was dubbed. MGM created full-color lobby cards for this 1962 release. We think it is very likely that the movie stayed in continuous release throughout 1961 and 1962, so we don't consider the 1962 release to be a "re-release". However, the MGM lobbies are from 1962 and the Embassy lobbies are from 1961, for those who feel this is an important distinction!

Condition: good to very good. both cards have darkened somewhat with age; paper clip crease and stain in the left of the bottom edge of one card as well as some stains around the edges of both cards; some creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the cards (more so around the edges); pairs of staple holes around the edges of one card (some enlarged or torn from rough removal)
