As with many other similar art books, this one has been taken apart and the color plates from the book are being sold individually. This auction is for one of the color plates from this book, as described below, and as seen in our image. These 1951 color book plates are of equal quality and the same size as those "Matires de l'Affiche" plates from the late 1890s, which typically sell for $1,000 to $5,000 each! Important Added Info: This is a set of five pages (two of them have images on the back, and one has text on the front and back). They are pages from the 1951 book, The Posters of Toulouse-Lautrec. As the two text pages explain, they illustrate how the stone lithography process employed by Lautrec in the 1890s worked (they are like progressive proofs). Condition: very good to fine.
