An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Maltese Falcon, the 1931 Roy Del Ruth romantic crime detective mystery melodrama (based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett) starring Bebe Daniels (as Ruth Wonderly), Ricardo Cortez (as Sam Spade), Dudley Digges (as Casper Gutman), Una Merkel (as Effie Perrine), Robert Elliott, Thelma Todd, Otto Matieson (as Dr. Joel Cairo), and Dwight Frye (as Wilmer Cook). Note that this movie was re-made just five years later under a new title of "Satan Met a Lady", and Bette Davis played the lead role, and of course, five years after that, Warners made it a third time, reverting to the original title, and this one starred Humphrey Bogart, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Mary Astor, and became one of the best remembered movies of all time! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is from the 1931 first version of this movie, and original 1931 movie paper of any sort is incredibly scarce. Also note that we have never seen or heard of this wonderful image before, but it certainly wonderfully illustrates the plot of the movie, in a very surreal way! Condition: very good. There is faint discoloration in the emulsion in the middle of the right of the still, in the solid black background area. There are a few faint creases and scuffs scattered in the image. Other than the above, the still is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
