Universal Studios (also referred to as Universal Pictures or simply Universal) is an American film studio which was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles O. Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, Robert H. Cochrane, and Jules Brulatour. It is the oldest surviving film studio in the United States, and the world's fourth oldest after Gaumont, Pathe and Nordisk Film. It is located in Universal City, California, and is one of Hollywood's "Big Six" studios. Universal also owns several film-related theme parks and resorts, including: Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Japan and more!

Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 10" x 22" [25 x 56 cm]. It was taken in 1938 by the photographer Thompson of Santa Monica. It was taken during the "Happiness Tour", which was a large group of people who visited Hollywood and the Canadian Rockies, and this was taken on July 13, 1938, when they visited Universal Studios. If anyone knows more about The Happiness Tour, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
