An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Sisters Under the Skin, the 1934 David Burton romantic love triangle melodrama (based on the story by S.K. Lauren) starring Elissa Landi, Frank Morgan, Joseph Schildkraut, Doris Lloyd, Clara Blandick, and Shirley Grey NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The image area of the poster was in quite nice condition with only minor fold wear. The borders of the poster were somewhat tattered, and the person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area).
