An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War II Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 40" [72 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Bits of Careless Talk are Pieced Together by the Enemy, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster ("Convoy sails for England tonight") encouraging people to safeguard sensitive information, and featuring Stevan Dohanos art of a Nazi hand (with a swastika ring) placing the final piece of a jigsaw puzzle which reveals the time and location of a convoy. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Stevan Dohanos Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of surface paper loss on parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but after it was backed, it was displayed, and the reds in the poster faded, so the puzzle pieces that were originally a reddish color are now a light orange, and the hand is lighter than it used to be. The poster still displays nicely, and many people might not realize that it is faded, but bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
