An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Glen or Glenda (also released as "I Led 2 Lives"), the 1953 Edward D. Wood Jr. transvestite sexploitation melodrama ("Based on the lives of Christine Jorgensen"; "What am I... male or female! The strange case of a 'man' who changed his sex!"; "Strange loves... of those who live and love but can never marry!"; "Adults only"; originally supposed to be about a man who has a sex-change operation, Ed Wood twisted it into a semi-biography of himself, thus changing the story into one about a transvestite, and not a sex change, and to add insult to injury, when the movie was released as "I Led 2 Lives", they used the tagline "Based on the Lives of Christine Jorgensen", even though it in no way was, and we wonder why they weren't sued!) starring Edward D. Wood Jr. (as Daniel Davis), Bela Lugosi, Dolores Fuller, Lyle Talbot, and Timothy Farrell. Note that Timothy Farrell is completely forgotten today, but he had a fascinating life. He worked for 26 years for the Los Angeles County Marshal's Office, and was a movie actor at the same time! He mostly worked on low budget movies, including several for Ed Wood, although he did play a bailiff in the 1954 "A Star is Born", which was the ultimate typecasting, because he himself had been a bailiff, but he eventually rose to be the County Marshal. But in 1975, he was convicted of a felony (using deputies for political activities), and he was fired. He lived for another 14 years before dying of a heart attack. His life should be made into a movie, no doubt with Johnny Depp in the starring role!

Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm].

Note that in recent months we auctioned a collection of sexploitation one-sheets that included many rare titles from a single collector, and last month we auctioned the last of that collection. NOW, we have been consigned a different collection which includes even more very rarely seen titles! In this set of auctions we auctioned the first group of one-sheet from this new collection, and there are 132 different ones(all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and, like the previous collection we auctioned, this consignor also only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again!

Condition: very good. The poster has minor fold wear and a few light creases and scuffs in portions of the folds. There are a few tiny blank border defects. Overall the poster is in pretty nice condition!
