Griffith) starring Arthur Johnson (in the title role as The Tenderfoot), Florence Barker, Charles Craig, Dell Henderson, and W. Chrystie Miller. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this 1916 re-release three-sheet! Note that this is a poster from the Unicorn Film Service. This was a company that in 1917 or so bought the rights to early 1910s movies and then re-released them, often with changed titles and striking images that surely brought in customers, many of whom were probably very disappointed to be seeing a pretty old movie! In the case of this movie, it was originally released in 1910. I had long suspected this, but I got confirmation from exhibitor magazines from 1917 that had ads for the Unicorn Film Service, which explained that they had older movies available to be booked by theaters who were doing poorly with movies they were currently showing and wanted to replace them with something that would do better! If anyone knows more about this movie or the Unicorn Film Service, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this three-sheet measures 39" x 77 1/2" [99 x 197 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: fair to good. All of the surviving posters from this company we have seen have been attached to a thin linen and then folded up, and we think that is how they distributed all their posters. So the poster would have been attached to the linen in 1916. It has wear around the edges and along the folds, with some light water staining scattered in parts of the poster. Obviously, it can be restored, but bear this in mind and look at our super-sized image before bidding on this extremely rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
