An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #4 (The Convict Strikes) Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Fire Detective, the 1929 Spencer Gordon Bennet & Thomas Storey silent fireman firefighter rescue adventure serial ("Thrilling and Amazing Adventures"; "Blazing Pathe serial"; "From a story by Frank Leon Smith") starring Gladys McConnell, Hugh Allan, and Leo D. Maloney. We could find no complete plot synopsis of this serial (which had ten two-reel chapters), but we found an incomplete review that said that the hero of the serial was a man whose father made firefighting equipment, and he became a fireman to see how his father's equipment worked, and that the female lead was a newspaper woman also investigating the equipment. Sadly, this is a lost movie, meaning no prints are believed to have survived. According to the Exhibitors Daily Review, The Fire Detective was set to be the first serial with sound sequences (not a talkie, but synchronized sound effects). However, based on reviews of the time, those intended sound effects never happened, so it was a completely silent serial. Important Added Info: Note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is in excellent condition and is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
