Note that the poster is both dated and has the artist's signature in the lower left! The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years. Also note that because this poster is too large for our photography wall, we had to take an image of the left and an image of the right, and then digitally combine them, so if you notice that our digital photo appears this way, this is the reason, and it has nothing to do with the actual poster. The poster had pretty minor fold and border wear, with a few tears and smudges scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
