An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Nanook of the North, the classic 1922 Robert J. Flaherty U.S./French silent Arctic Eskimo Inuit documentary ("A Story Of Life And Love In The Actual Arctic"; "The truest and most human story of the Great White Snows"; "A picture with more drama, greater thrill, and stronger action than any picture you ever saw.") featuring Nanook, Nyla, Cunayou, Allee, and Allegoo. Note that this is a really wonderful documentary! In recent years, there has been a suggestion that some of it was "staged", and that Nanook was not really as he is portrayed in the movie, but that doesn't really matter. It really is a movie that everyone should see! Important Added Info: Note that first release 1922 movie paper of any kind from this classic documentary is incredibly rare. Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good. There are smudges scattered in the image, with some deterioration in the blank background area to the top left of Nanook. We don't know how easy or hard it would be to clean or restore this, but it is not very distracting (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
