An Original Vintage 7" x 9" Television Still (Learn More) Johnny Staccato (also known as "Staccato"), the 1959 James Hogan private detective crime melodrama television (TV) series starring John Cassavetes (in the title role as Johnny Staccato), Eduardo Ciannelli, Garry Walberg, Pete Candoli, and Shelly Manne. Note that this TV series was ahead of its time (too far ahead, because it only lasted one season). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great TV publicity still of Shirley Knight was released when she was appearing on a single episode called "The Parents" in this early John Cassavetes NBC TV series. Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! The still measures 7" x 9", but it does not appear to be trimmed. Condition: very good to fine.
