An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) One Eyed Jacks, the 1961 Marlon Brando revenge cowboy western ("The motion picture that starts its own tradition of greatness!"; "Based on the novel 'The Authentic Death of Hendry Jones' By Charles Neider") starring Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Katy Jurado, Ben Johnson, Pina Pellicer (billed as "introducing Pina Pellicer"), Nacho Galindo, Slim Pickens, and Mina Martinez. This bizarre western (which was a fictionalized version of events in the life of Billy the Kid) was, for many years, the record holder for the most amount of footage shot for a single movie. Director Brando apparently shot over 24 hours of footage and his initial cut of the movie ran around 8 hours! Note, too, that planning for the movie began in late 1958 (with Stanley Kubrick as the proposed director), but all the delays, and Brando's endless filming, meant that the movie was not completed until late 1960, and released in 1961. However, some of the movie paper has a 1959 copyright, showing that, at that point, they hoped it would be released either that year or in 1960. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the poster was folded slightly off center, and that it will need to be sent in a larger-than-normal flat package. This six-sheet was printed in 4 sections. Condition: good. There are many creases and several tears along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. There are many pinholes around the edges of the poster. There is some darkening and slight extra wear on the part of the back of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded, typical of folded six-sheets (but it has little effect on the front of the poster). This poster has some significant imperfections. We may have written a few words about those imperfections, but we may not have, as you can likely see them by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster. It DOES have clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right (if the item has significant defects that are difficult to see in our image, then we try to describe those in words elsewhere within the auction). Note that some of these posters have tape repairs on the back, and we note more significant repairs, but we do not note just a few small pieces of tape on the back of a poster. PLEASE DO NOT USE WISHFUL THINKING WHEN LOOKING AT THE CONDITION OF THIS POSTER! It DOES have significant defects, and they may be such that you would not be happy with this item. We know that some collectors could accept this item's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this poster if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you feel sure you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored. Of course, you should realize that if you do not bid on this poster because of its condition defects, it may be quite some time before you see this poster offered again!
