An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Robert Preston was an actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. Some of his movies include: All The Way Home, How The West Was Won, S.O.B., Victor Victoria (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and many others, but he is best remembered for his starring role in the stage and screen versions of "The Music Man". He passed away in 1987 at the age of 68. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Robert Preston! Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So it is an original still from , but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahoney Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him).
