An Original Vintage Television Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 33 pages) (Learn More)

Biography of the Fight, the 1960 biographical boxing sports television (TV) special event featuring Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, and narrated by James Cagney (the famous gangster actor, who had played boxers in several movies, and who also interviewed each of the fighters). Note that this special explored the lives and boxing styles of Ingemar Johansson and Floyd Patterson, who would soon meet to battle for the World's Heavyweight Championship.

Important Added Info: Note that this script is from June 12, 1960 and the screenplay was written by W.C. Heinz & Alvin Boretz. It has "Tele Prompter" written in pencil in the top right of the cover and it gives the script for the narration and interviews (and there are a number of pen notations and cross outs). It is interesting that these interviews were completely scripted, even though the public didn't know that. Included with the script is a 2-page script for a 60-second trailer and a 1-page script for a 1-minute VTR.

Note: We have 12 images of this script, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2.

Condition: good to very good. The pages are not bound together and it appears that they never were (perhaps they were held together with a clip). There are stains caused by a paper clip on the top right of the 2-page 60-second trailer. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
