Maturo Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this one-sheet, which most people feel is the best of all Shirley Temple one-sheets, and only one in the last 25 years (it sold for $733)! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds. Its blank borders were folded back at one time, and it had pinholes in the corners. It had faint water staining in part of the lower portion of "WINKIE" and also in part of the upper part of the left blank border. The poster had some pinholes, creases, and tiny tears down the left and right borders, with a few more faint water stains scattered in those areas. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed it with no excess and did very little restoration, and did not address the faint water staining described above. If I owned this wonderful poster, I would surely have it removed from the linen and professionally re-backed. Its defects are the sort that respond really well to professional restoration, and re-backing, it will display wonderfully on the new owner's wall.
