An Original 1960 (from the first release of this movie in Russia) Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Movie Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 39" [72 x 99 cm]) (Learn More)

Mandy (released in the U.S. in 1953 as "Crash of Silence"), the 1952 Alexander Mackendrick English Ealing disability juvenile deaf/mute family relationship melodrama ("Without a spoken word... she haunted their every kiss - their every embrace!"; "From Britain comes a motion picture as daring in theme as it is powerful in impact!"; "Never was there told so vividly... so movingly a story like Mandy's"; "She'll find a home in every heart! She'll reach the heart of every home"; "Adapted from 'The Day is Ours' By Hilda Lewis"; about a young girl who was born deaf and cannot talk, but her parents believe that she could learn to, and they get her into a school for the deaf where an excellent teacher helps her to learn to deal with her disability) starring Phyllis Calvert, Jack Hawkins, Terence Morgan, Godrey Tearle, Mandy Miller (in the title role as Mandy), Marjorie Fielding, Nancy Price, and Edward Chapman. Note that Mandy Miller (born Carmen Isabella Miller) was an English child actress of the 1950s. She had her first role in "The Man in the White Suit" when she was 6 years old, and then she became quite popular as a child actress in depressing family melodramas in the 1950s in England. But when she turned 18, she quit show business forever, first becoming an au pair in New York City, and then marrying an architect and having three children.
