An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Charge of the Light Brigade, the classic 1936 Michael Curtiz English-in-India romantic love triangle Crimean War action thriller ("Into the Valley of Death rode the six hundred"; very loosely based on the poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson; Flynn is an English officer in India, and the Indians massacre a group of English soldiers, and then retreat to their stronghold, assuming the English will not dare attempt to retaliate, but Flynn's character ignores his orders and leads his men on a suicide mission!) starring Errol Flynn, Olivia De Havilland, Patric Knowles, Henry Stephenson, Nigel Bruce, Donald Crisp, David Niven, Robert Barrat, J. Carrol Naish, Scotty Beckett, and C. Henry Gordon NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this 1936 first release one-sheet! We don't know why this poster is so rare, because we have auctioned the other sizes of posters, and we have auctioned one-sheets from the other top Errol Flynn movies, but we are certain that this is an extremely rare poster, that may not come up for auction again for many years! Condition: very good. The poster has tiny separation at the crossfolds and there is a piece of tape on back of each. There are pinholes in the corners and creases around the edges, and there are some small pieces of conservation tape on the eback of a few small tears in the borders. The poster has a minor printing defect which resulted in white lines in the bottom of the "GADE" of "BRIGADE" in the title and one in Flynn's forehead and hair (the lines would have been caused when the poster was in the printing press, and it may or may not be on other examples of the poster). One could display this ultra rare poster just as it is, or it would certainly be a relatively simple linenbacking, but that will be the choice of the new owner. Learn More about condition grades
