Date Sold 2/21/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 26 Gene Krupa fan club photos, letters, and more (ranging in size from 4" x 5" to 9" x 11"). The person who acquired these did so between 1941 and 1946, when they joined the Gene Krupa Fan Club! They kept these in a folder until they passed away, when our consignor acquired them. Included in this is vol. 1 no. 1 of "That Drummer's Band", a newsletter called "Super Krupa Drumbeat" sent to members, twelve vintage 8x10s, many showing Gene Krupa performing, and also handwritten letters between members of the fan club! The winner of this lot gets all these items! Measurements: from 4" x 5" to 9" x 11"Gene Krupa was a drummer and bandleader from the 1930s to the 1970s. It was his idea to create the tunable tom-tom and he was one of the first drummers to use a hi-hat as we know it today. He also was the first drummer to record using a bass drum.
