As all Rome cheers, 'Ben-Hur' moves his team to the starting line."; "A story of the people and times of The Christ"; "Based on the classic novel by General Lew Wallace"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; winner of 11 Academy Awards, which was the record won by a single movie at that time) starring Charlton Heston (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Judah Ben-Hur), Jack Hawkins (as Quintus Arrius), Haya Harareet (as Esther), Stephen Boyd (as Messala), Hugh Griffith (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Sheik Ilderim), Martha Scott (as Miriam), Cathy O'Donnell (as Tirzah), Sam Jaffe (as Simonides), Frank Thring (as Pontius Pilate), and Claude Heater (as Jesus, but his face is never shown throughout the movie, although you see parts of his body). Important Added Info: Note that this is form a special set of posters printed in Italy for use in the U.S. (and likely other countries as well, because they have no writing on the front). Many special color posters were printed in Italy at this time for use in the U.S. and elsewhere, because Italy had the absolute best color printing. There is a stamp that reads "MADE IN ITALY" on the back of the poster. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has a very large tear at lower left that has been repaired with tape from the back. There are some patches of surface paper loss and tape stains around the edges (the original tape was not used for any restoration purpose).
