An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 15" x 40" [38 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) New Morals for Old, the 1932 Charles Brabin family relationship changing values melodrama ("I'm free, white and twenty-one!... I have my own life to live!"; "Youth... living its own life...loving...making its own mistakes...Have parents the right to interfere?"; "From the play 'After All' by John Van Druten"; a wacky story of a wealthy couple and their son and daughter who are each rebellious in their own way; the son wants to go to Paris to be a painter, and the daughter has an affair with a married man; after many dramatic moments, including death scenes for both parents, both children start to conform, and by the end of the movie, they have settled into lives similar to their parents, reflecting the 1930s need to have "happy" endings, especially at MGM!) starring Robert Young (his fifth real role and his second starring role!), Margaret Perry, Lewis Stone, Laura Hope Crews, and Myrna Loy. Note that Myrna Loy was fifth billed, and had a surprisingly small part, as a woman that star Robert Young has a brief affair with! This was during a "lull" in Loy's career, where she mostly had small supporting roles, but two years later she would become a major star in movies like "The Thin Man" and "Manhattan Melodrama"!
