f107 RANGERS TAKE OVER linen three-sheet movie poster '43 Tex O'Brien, Newill

Date Sold 4/22/2008

An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures approximately 41" x 81") (Learn More)

The Rangers Take Over, the 1943 Albert Herman Texas Rangers cowboy western starring The Texas Rangers (Dave 'Tex' O'Brien, Jim Newill, and Guy Wilkerson), Iris Meredith, and Cal Shrum's Rhythm Rangers, Forrest Taylor, and I. Stanford Jolley. Note that this was the first movie where Guy Wilkerson became one of "The Texas Rangers", which likely explains why he received much lesser billing than O'Brien and Newill (and was fourth billed after Iris Meredith!).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, smudges, small tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There were some creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but some of the tiny defects were not restored, or the restoration is noticeable from close up (but from any reasonable viewing distance, they are not at all noticeable or distracting).
