An Original Vintage Comic Book (measures 7" x 10 1/4" [18 x 26 cm]) (Learn More) Thor is a comic book superhero based on Norse mythology (the character is literally the Norse god come to Earth), and created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Jack Kirby in 1962 for Marvel Comics. After making his debut in Journey Into Mystery #83, he was later given his own comic ("The Mighty Thor"). The Thor character has appeared in various television shows and films, and he is an integral part of The Avengers. Thor lives in Asgard, which is home to the Asgardians and other beings adapted from Norse mythology. The character is portrayed by Chris Hemsworth (and later Natalie Portman as Mighty Thor) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Important Added Info: Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading. Our "very good" is completely different from a comic book graded "very good". We provide many images of the comic book (covers, plus interior 2-page spreads), which surely allows you to get an excellent opinion of the exact condition of this comic book, so it takes out any worries that the comic has been "over-graded", because you can "grade" it yourself, by looking at the many images! This is one of a remarkable collection of 268 mostly 1970s Marvel comics, including 136 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, with most of the issues between #15 and #156, plus #2 and #12! These were consigned directly from the collector who gathered them in the 1970s, and none have had any restoration or have been "slabbed"! And EVERY one of these 268 comics start at $1 with truly no reserve. This is the kind of buying opportunity every comic book collector dreams of, and when these auctions close on October 26, every one of these comics will have a new owner! Condition: good. Someone drew five-pointed stars in each of the letters of THOR on the cover and also in the circle at lower right. It appears that someone later tried to erase the stars in the top of the cover. Other than the above defects, the comic is in nice condition (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
