An Original Vintage Campaign Book (measures 17 1/4" x 21 1/2" [44 x 55 cm]; 54 pages) (Learn More) Fox 1934-35, the 1934 campaign book ("Fox Showmanship Extra") featuring art and information about upcoming Fox films. It is a huge size (see below) and it is filled with mostly full-page ads for their upcoming movies, including The Cat's Paw (Harold Lloyd), four Will Rogers movies, two Charlie Chan movies ("in London" and "in Paris"), Angel Face (Alice Faye), Dante's Inferno, and many more. There is also a 12-page section at the star called "Fox Showmanship Stars", with all of their top stars shown four to a page. All of the pages are two-color (either red and black or blue and black), but many of the ads have really wonderful art! We wish we could have pictured all of the pages, but we pictured many two-page spreads, which gives you a good idea of how nice this campaign book is. Note that William Fox was a real "showman", and he loved to do unusual and "big" promotions for his major movies, and in this year, he came up with the idea of having his campaign book be a massive 17 1/4" x 21 1/2", far larger than any other studio yearbook of past years from any studio! Likely this helps account for why this specific campaign book is so rare. All campaign books are rare, but this one is beyond rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. There are many creases and scuffs on the cover, with surface paper loss in the right corners of the cover.
