Date Sold 4/7/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Pioneer Scout, the 1928 Lloyd Ingraham & Alfred L. Werker silent cowboy western ("Story by Frank M. Clifton"; about a frontier scout who falls in love with a woman traveling in the desert; they are accosted by bandits whose leader attempts to kidnap her, but the scout's horse diverts the bandit's attention and he is able to rescue her!) starring Fred Thomson, Nora Lane, William Courtright, Tom Wilson (a large white man who specialized in playing black roles in the early silent days when studios were reluctant to hire African Americans; he would put burnt cork on his face and skin!; he appeared in The Kid, but not in a black role), and Charles Murray. Note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). Also note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. The card pictured at top has paper loss at upper right. The other card has advertisements glued on the back.
