Cline (billed as Eddie Cline) silent juvenile young-boy-runs-away-to-join-the-circus comedy ("Jackie Coogan and a circus all in one wonderful picture"; "Adapted from James Otis' celebrated story 'Toby Tyler Ten Weeks with a Circus'"; "Presented by Sol Lesser") starring Jackie Coogan (as Toby Tyler), Barbara Tennant, Russell Simpson, Claire McDowell, Cesare Gravina (as Luigi, the clown), and Nellie Lane (as the "Fat Woman"). Note that this movie was remade by Walt Disney in 1960 as "Toby Tyler or Ten Weeks with a Circus", starring Kevin Corcoran. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: The poster was printed on a gold paper stock! The paper stock is gold on the front and regular color on the back. One sees this in the 1960s and later, but I have only seen this before on some Erich von Stroheim lobby cards in the silent period. Also note that this half-sheet is very old, and it would not make sense to attempt to roll it, as the paper is fragile enough that rolling it might damage it. Therefore we will send it in a large flat package. Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster! Note that the poster is not so fragile that it is "falling to pieces"! If it is handled carefully, it can absolutely be framed and enjoyed without any worry. Condition: good. There are many tears and areas of paper loss in the top border, but fortunately, only blank paper is affected. There are many pieces of clear tape on the back of the top border. There are some creases scattered in the image, including some in the very center of the image. But the poster seems to have survived pretty well, considering it is 85 years-old, and after paperbacking by a talented restorer, it will look great, and there will be almost no paint restoration within the image area!
