Poldark (released in the U.S. as "Poldark II"), the 1996 Richard Laxton English made-for-TV historical political romantic melodrama ("The return of that unashamedly, totally romantic, swashbuckling saga."; based on the novel 'The Stranger from the Sea' by Winston Graham) starring John Bowe (in the title role as Ross Poldark), Mel Martin (as Demelza), Michael Attwell (as George Warleggan), Ioan Gruffudd, Kelly Reilley, and Nicholas Gleaves. Note that in spite of the title, this is a new version of the same stories that were a TV series from 1975 to 1977, starring Robin Ellis.
