An Original Vintage Theatrical Style 2 Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More)

Her Honor the Governor, the 1926 Chester Withey (billed as "Chet Withey") silent political romantic melodrama ("Greater than 'Madame X'") starring Pauline Frederick, Caroll Nye (best remembered from Gone with the Wind as Scarlett's 2nd husband), Greta von Rue, Tom Santschi, Stanton Heck, and Boris Karloff (in an early role, as a drug-addicted criminal!)
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that this slide comes with the protective cardboard holders that were placed over each side of the glass when they were shipped to theaters (to prevent breakage), and they obviously worked well, or otherwise they would have had to send them a different way! 99% of the time, theaters discarded these cardboard inserts, and so they are almost never found with the slide, but this slide has its rare original cardboard inserts!

Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: fair to good. There are marks in the stars' faces, which are possibly a defect from when it was created, because otherwise, it is in excellent condition (see our images).
