Important Added Info: Note that Marilyn Monroe was pretty unknown when this movie was first released in 1948, and while she was second billed after Adele Jergens, the advertising centered around a giant sexy image of Jergens and a tiny head & shoulders image of Monroe! In 1952, at the height of her popularity, this movie was re-released, giving her huge billing over the title! U.S. posters from both releases are quite rare, and we have only previously auctioned two examples of this first release 1948 one-sheet (the last one sold for $432)! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. It had some pinholes and small paper loss around the edges. It had a snipe taped to the middle left, covering Jergens' midsection, and there are yellow tape stains in the middle of the left border and in the right of Jergens' dress, slightly extending into the "L" of the title. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, and the restorer left alone the tape stains from the snipe described above.
