He was the 38th President of the United States of America from 1974 to 1977, taking over after Richard Nixon resigned. In one of his most controversial acts, he granted a presidential pardon to Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal. Prior to his presidency, Ford was a member of the House of Representatives and later House Minority Leader. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 93. Important Added Info: This index card has been personally autographed (signed) by Gerald Ford. Also included is a color 8" x 10" REPRODUCTION that the index card could be matted and framed together with! Note that our consignor started obtaining autographs in person decades ago when he would go to premieres and other places that celebrities appeared. He has continued this hobby throughout the years, and now he has reached an age where he has consigned some of his vast collection to us. Most of his autographs were obtained in person, but some were obtained through the mail. Both we and our consignor feel that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
