An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War II Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 37 1/4" [72 x 95 cm]) (Learn More)

Award for Careless Talk, the 1944 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster ("Don't discuss troop movements - ship sailings - war equipment") encouraging citizens to safeguard sensitive war information, and featuring Stevan Dohanos art of a Nazi hand wearing a swastika ring and holding an Iron Cross medal. Obviously, the point was that a person carelessly discussing war information was in essence a collaborator with Nazi Germany just as much as a Nazi soldier was, and that "loose lips" could result in Germans winning the highest awards, which is certainly "heavy handed", but it REALLY gets the point across!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top left crossfold and minor wear on the foldlines and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
