An Original 1981 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked German "A1" Movie Poster (measures 23" x 33" [58 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) Love Happy, the 1949 David Miller musical screwball comedy ("New Musical Girlesque!!!"; "Their Newest! Funniest! Musical!") starring the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Chico, and Harpo), Ilona Massey ("Screendom's most beautiful blonde!"), Vera-Ellen ("Thrills in the torrid 'Sadie Thompson' dance!"), Marion Hutton ("She swings with the strings of your heart!"), Raymond Burr, Melville Cooper, Leon Belasco, Paul Valentine, Eric Blore, Bruce Gordon, Otto Waldis, and Marilyn Monroe (in only her second credited movie role!). What is remarkable is that the people who designed the posters put pictures of three pretty girls on them, but did not manage to make Marilyn Monroe one of them, surely a major blunder. She WAS pictured on one of the lobby cards, but that seems to have been almost by chance! I know this was because she was unknown at the time, but I would think they would have recognized her obvious assets! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom William Chantrell Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period).
