An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Shalako (released in the U.S. as "Edward Dmytryk's Shalako"), the 1968 Edward Dmytryk English/German New Mexico cowboy western ("Sean Connery Is Shalako! Shalako Means Action! Action Means Bardot!"; "Based on the novel by Louis L'Amour") starring Sean Connery (in the title role as "Shalako"; "He tamed the West!"), Brigitte Bardot ("Is Irena - she tamed Shalako!"), Stephen Boyd, Jack Hawkins, Peter van Eyck, Honor Blackman, Woody Strode, Eric Sykes, Alexander Knox, and Valerie French NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a special one-sheet that was made both for the theatrical showing of "Shalako", and also to cross-promote Brigitte Bardot's appearance on NBC television. I have never seen this poster before, and I can't imagine there are many of them floating around! Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases, scuffs, and areas of surface paper loss along the foldlines, and the person who backed the poster did no restoration. If I owned the poster, I would have a restorer touch up the poster without re-backing the poster (I am pretty sure that could be done without a problem). After expert restoration, the poster would look great, and it would truly have little paint on it (it is only needed along the foldlines). Learn More about condition grades
