Date Sold 11/9/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Aloma of the South Seas, the 1941 Alfred Santell romantic tropical island melodrama ("Terrific in Technicolor!"; "Story by Seena Owen and Kurt Siodmak"; "From the Play by LeRoy Clemens and John B. Hymer") starring Dorothy Lamour (in the title role as Aloma), Jon Hall, Lynne Overman, Philip Reed, Katherine De Mille, Fritz Lieber, Dona Drake, John Bagni, John Barclay, and Scotty Beckett NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1941, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good. There is an embossed stamp in the top right corner, paper loss in the bottom blank corners, and many pinholes in each corner (there is tape on the back of the top corners).
